Suicide at NTU
Not much of credible information I can share for now.
But words have it that it happened today at 11.00 AM, just a few metres away from my school and a few more metres away from the tutorial class that I was having at the time. A fourth-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student jumped off the building after stabbing a professor, probably over Final Year Project issue.
Suicide is a mystery to me. Even though pressure can be such a bitch sometimes, that it would make one wishes that he or she never had to deal with them, I personally wonder how these people manage to have a strong combination of faith not to breathe again plus the courage to end their life.
PS. I found the news coverage. It turned out to happen at 10.30, just about a few minutes after I passed the location. Creepy! Thankfully, I was too busy focusing on printing my COM204 assignment so I never had to watch someone – who is said to to be an Indonesian-Chinese, anyway - at the last inch of his life.
PPS. I just checked for more information and I realized that I saw this today morning. It passed by right in front of me just before I crossed the road from the Canteen B path to my school. I must be dumb enough to not realize that something important and newsworthy must have been going on, haha. For more pictures, click here.
