At Pasir Ris
Note: This entry is supposed to be posted yesterday.
Went to Pasir Ris the whole day with my hallmates today. We originally planned to relax by going to the Escape Theme Park, until we arrived at the destination after almost two hours and horrified to find out that it was closed.
Out of desperation, we ended up going to the nearest mall that we could find. I played Dance Dance Revolution with Randy today. Been a long time since the last time I played the simulation thingy and I think that I have lost half my skills. It was quite pricey, by the way.
Still in desperation, we continued to watch a movie called Taken – an average film with a pretty nice execution. Low in content and storyline – I managed to sum up the movie in three sentences this afternoon, but I will not post it here so not to spoil the plot. It was high in action, though, oftentimes with excessive violence. I keep on thinking that the violence thingy is just a cheap gimmick, because not only they are unnecessary but irrational to the context of the movie as well. The main character really meant it when he said “I will kill you”. So when it went a bit too literal, I could not think of his role as a hero. He is just a villain’s villain, yet two wrongs do not make a right. So when the movie ended, I am left with one big question mark: What is the moral of the story? It was like a collection of gimmicks assembled together to make a storyline, but a storyline that drags on without sufficient purposes.
Went to eat sushi after that, taken quite a handful number of pictures, and arrived back at Boon Lay by the evening. Not a bad day after all.
Been packing my stuffs the whole night and I am so tired right now. Wanted to surf the net but the connection sucks really bad.
