25. LaToya London (Season 3: 4th place)

Vocal powerhouse! Possibly one of the best female technical vocalists (arguably only triumphed by Melinda Doolittle) to ever compete on the show. Her double performance of Too Close For Comfort and Don’t Rain On My Parade is my absolute favourite pair ever from the multiple-song week performance. Perhaps with an exception for Clay Aiken, who else can deliver such amazing showstoppers back to back in one night? Also notable is Somewhere, yet another showstopper.

24. Christina Christian (Season 1: 6th place)

Finally someone who knows a thing or two about subtlety. Christian’s smooth vocal with a little bit of jazzy overtone is lovely. She has the most delicate rendition of Ain’t No Sunshine that I have ever heard. I really enjoy At Last as well. I wish we could have seen more from her, as she delivered a total of only five performances throughout her run on the show.

23. Tatiana Del Toro (Season 8: semi-finalist)

This girl is comedy gold. I love all the drama and antics from her. And to top it all, she is an accomplished vocalist who can comfortably sing circles around four fifth of the contestants from Season 8. And her direct reprisal of Saving All My Love For You is a classic. Oh dear, I wonder how many more times she would sing that song if she advances. I love this girl!

22. Felicia Barton (Season 8: semi-finalist)

It is Lisa Leuschner all over again. A contestant who delivered one of the best semi-final performances somehow forgotten by the voters, yet forgotten by the judges to be given a spot on the Wild Card. Seriously, no more chance for this terrific contestant? Of course, she is brought as the replacement for producer’s plant Joanna Pacitti. But she proved her worth with No One, did she not? I like her smokey vocal tone and excellent music taste. I have seen some of her other performances from YouTube and, man, this girl can sing! I would be glad to support her career if she release her own albums.

21. Jessica Sierra (Season 4: 10th place)

Sierra is a singer with a unique rough tone, the kind that is not unconventionally beautiful but may grow on you as time goes by. I like how she pulled Boys Are Back In Town and Total Eclipse Of The Heart. This girl sure has singing talent, although she is now more (in)famous for appearing on newspapers for going into jail. Oh dear, too bad!
