[AD: LOL, why would I be biased? I do not care about any of these people and my opinion is purely reflected on how well they have fared so far in the competition. I started out not liking Tabitha and Sezairi, but they improved throughout the competition. I started out liking Duane, but he hit rock bottom. Sylvia has good voice, which I have acknowledged even from the very beginning (during the Final 13 week, I mentioned I like her voice on Fallin' but her performance is simply boring). She has unsatisfactory stage presence and versatility, that is her problem. Only Charles has ever performed worse than Sylvia, but then again, he has had his own share of moments for a few times. Sylvia, as much as I like her voice, has zero memorable performance. (Or one. I liked Mercy, but for now, it would not be fair to count that in as I did not watch other semi-final performances.)]

Personality/stage presence: Faisal

[AD: I think that Sylvia has the most unique voice from all the remaining contestants, but she never really impressed me and, to consider that we are already close to the final, her stage presence is still very underdeveloped. She never fell into the atrocity that Take On Me was, but then again, she has not impressed me as much as Charles did on An Jing. Sylvia is a very raw talent, but she has not really come out with her own moments.]

[AD: Faizal never positioned himself as a great vocalist (neither did I ever say that he is), which is why him not being the next Josh Groban is not offensive. This is freaking Singapore Idol. The key word is "Idol". It is all about finding the next "It" thing, in which singing ability is only a part of it. Sad but true, and you just have to learn to accept the circumstance. This whole Idol franchise was never about the best vocalist, so it would take a fool to buy into the idea that it is all about the singing. They can put a superb technical vocalist up there, but if s/he bores me to hell or has stoned stage presence, I will not even bother to listen nor will the producers be interested to invest in him/her. Clearly said, my opinion is translated into the voting result better. I am sorry, but you sound like you will attack any single reviews out there that has any non-negative things to say about Faizal. I am not a Faizal fan and I will not be voting for him whatsoever. I do not care, but I know why some of his fans out there will vote for him. Faizal knows his strengths and limitations well, which is why he emphasized on audience engagement and never stoop into Duane Ho's level to sing a song that he is not capable of (like I Have Nothing, even though Duane is a better vocalist overall). On this respect, as far as audience engagement is concerned, he is very consistent and hence still safe on the competition. Quit your biased point of view and maybe you will start to see it.]

I felt Mae Sta Maria’s Nobody was a clever choice of song though; it thrusted her into the limelight considering the popularity of the song.

For me, NTU should really reconsider taking up too many international students, why? coz they just don’t have enough places for us to stay on campus. They could take more in when they have enough halls.

One last thing, it is right that SU is representative of students, they are also trying to help finding the right notch which can satisfy the “majority”, but things are not easy at all. They will need the right balance of voices and reasonable arguments that come from students like me and you too.

So, let me know if you want to help out to review this case and take a stance for the best for all. I will try to see whether can take you in or not. If not, you can always propose solution to solve this problem and argue for the interest of all, I will try to bring it up with whatever voice I have now.

[AD: Wah, senior has spoken up. In a sense, I do think that international students should be prepared to stay off-campus as well. After all, we are going to a foreign place that is not quite "homey". NTU-provided accomodation is actually more helpful than one could ever ask for. In a sense, it provides convenience and enable efficiency. It is when the distribution for this chance of better comfort and efficiency is unnecessarily tampered that I feel upset. My initial discomfort was only about me being unfortunate, until I learn about the numerous not-quite-fair things that are going on and/or to be implemented. Apparently, no one that I know is in the position of favouring this "possible" new scheme, not even the Singaporeans (although they might not be against it as well, but they would generally agree from an objective point of view that the scheme plan is not well-reasoned). Unless if there is a better rationale than "they are expected to go for higher position and hence would be less affected", I am not buying into this idea. Thanks for your comment.]
